The new dual Athlon boards may require some kernel tweaks similar to = what you would do to on a SMP Alpha machine, since they are using the = same basic APIC architecture, from what I've heard. I may have some = info wrong, but that's what I would look to if you plan to do kernel = source level configuration for a dual Athlon. --- Andy > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Kris Kennaway > Sent: Tuesday, April 17, 2001 2:38 PM > To: Marc W > Cc: Kris Kennaway; Kyle; questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: Re: the AMD factor in FreeBSD >=20 >=20 > On Tue, Apr 17, 2001 at 11:36:06AM -0700, Marc W wrote: > >=20 > > ah, but the question is: will FreeBSD work with the new DUAL = AMD > > motherboards coming out, or does the logic on those require kernel > > tweaking? >=20 > It may require some tweaking; I don't think anyone's seen an SMP AMD > mobo yet. >=20 > Kris >=20 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
