I think this is all a matter of definition. But there's an easier way: it's try that there's no AT&T code in BSD, but it's definitely not true that there's no BSD code in UNIX System V.4. Without BSD code, System V would only be a partial operating system. Look at System V.3 for an example: no fast file system, no networking, no logging, no symlinks, no job control...
