Hi, just a quick one: I've been trying to install FreeBSD 2.1 on a 486 VLB machine this weekend, copying the distributions across the W4WG network from a PC with a SCSI CD drive but no HD space to a PC with no CD drive but heaps of HD space. I FIPSed the 1.2GB target HD, then deleted the extra Primary DOS partion. I made the boot.flp and root.flp images as suggested and booted the target machine with the -c option. I adjusted all device CONFs (except for the MS serial mouse which the system wanted to describe as a bus mouse and said "Signature not found -FF") and saved the changes. The boot process continued briefly until it aborted with "TRAP 12 - Page fault while in kernel mode", "Supervisor Read, Page not Present", various pointers etc, "Current process (1) Swapper", and finally, "Panic: Page Fault". What gives? (I have only 4MB in the target machine, but will add another 4MB when stores open!) Rgds Luis M.
