I wanted to know what is planned in respect to the linux-ports. First of all, will there be a linux_base-8 port any time soon? Then I found out, that the port-nameing is kind of non-user friendly: RH6: linux_base-6 linux_devtools linux_kdump RH7: linux_base linux_devtools-7 N/A If RH7 is going to be the default for many more releases to come, I would kindly ask marcel@ to please provide an updated linux_kdump port, because it won't compile with RH7 cc -O2 -pipe -I/usr/src/usr.bin/ktrace -I/ -c linux_ioctl.c In file included from /usr/include/libio.h:51, from /usr/include/stdio.h:64, from /tmp/70636b.c:1: /compat/linux/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/include/stdarg.h:43: syntax error before `__gnuc_va_list' /compat/linux/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96/include/stdarg.h:43: warning: data definition has no type or storage class [...] I got WINE compiled under a /compat/linux chroot and it's failing because of missing ioctl's and I figured that I would need linux_kdump to investigate further. For the curious: Feb 28 18:30:52 roadrunner /kernel: linux: 'ioctl' fd=6, cmd=0x2203 ('"',3) not implemented Feb 28 18:30:52 roadrunner last message repeated 7 times Feb 28 18:30:52 roadrunner /kernel: linux: 'ioctl' fd=6, cmd=0x7201 ('r',1) not implemented Feb 28 18:30:55 roadrunner last message repeated 40 times I can also provide updated linux_base/linux_devtools-7 ports, which include bison/sed/cut/etc. which are needed for configure scripts to run in a chrooted linux-environment To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
