What is wrong? > Thanks, > Eric Assuming you correctly installed XFree86, then you have to configure it. Read the man page for XF86Config (capitalize it like I did). XF86Config is a file (mine is in /etc) that does much of the setup for the server, including setup for your monitor, video card, mouse, and keyboard. Take some time and get it right, then use the program xf86config (program name has no capitals, just the data file it creates) to set up the XF86Config file for you. If you think you have done that right, then the next time you try to start X, you'll get a lot of errors on your screen (if it fails).
