Rest assured, EISA support will be added, and FreeBSD WILL have to deal with the stupid things people can do. I think Steve was just saying (feel free to correct me) that EISA support isn't going to happen Really Soon, and an EISA motherboard will therefore have difficulties under the current FreeBSD SMP (even w/o EISA cards). I would buy EISA. (Then you can help debug it!)
