This sounds like an auto-sense problem. If you're hooked up to a hub, 10 half is the best you'll get. If it's a switch, it may be setting itself full-duplex. If its not a managed switch (you can't tell it what the ports should set themselves to), you can try changing the settings on the card (man ifconfig), but more than likely you're stuck. However, its odd its 1 direction... You may just have a bad cable.
