The PS/2 style stuf seems to be very sensitive to that PS/2 or DIN plug, does not matter. [Un]plugging keyboards is a bad idea on a live system. I've seen keyboard fuses (on the mainboard) blown etc And that would be the most benificial of the possible breakage you can get yourself into.
