I installed FreeBSD 2.2.1. I was trying to untar a file and every time I typed "tar -xf tarfile.tar" tar would core dump. Then I would reboot the system and tar would work, but gcc would stop working. Any idea what is wrong or what I can do to fix this problem? Everytime I reboot, something works and something stops working. Thanks for your help, Michael
