I wouldn't mind being corrected here if I'm wrong, but if I remember right, there was discussion some time back, that the Adaptec-derived scsi controllers that were integrated onto motherboards were somewhat crippled, at least in terms of on board command memory and tags. I remember the gist I got from the discussion was that I would be better off rejecting the notion of getting an integrated controller (I was shopping for a new system at that time). I know I am tremendously happy with my Tyan Titan-II, and I've heard nothing but good news about it's descendants, the Titan-III boards. > > Thanks in advance > > Stefan Lindgren > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message > > ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Chuck Robey | Interests include any kind of voice or data chuckr@glue.umd.edu | communications topic, C programming, and Unix. 213 Lakeside Drive Apt T-1 | Greenbelt, MD 20770 | I run Journey2 and picnic, both FreeBSD (301) 220-2114 | version 3.0 current -- and great FUN! ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hardware" in the body of the message
