However, I am on DSL and my ip is static for only as long as I leave my server on. (usually my ip stays for about 2 weeks) Is this sufficient to serve as a DNS server? thanks -jon ----- Original Message ----- From: "Len Conrad" To: Sent: Thursday, August 02, 2001 12:45 PM Subject: Re: Setting up a DNS server > > >I'm new to FreeBSD and Like a lot of you (I'm sure) tired of MS. > >I want to convert our DNS servers to FreeBSD > > > >Can anyone tell me the best install options and ports to use with this > >type of install. > >Also, any sites or recommended books on the subject would be great. > > get the O´Reilly book DNS & BIND, 4th edition. there are resources on the > BIND site in my sig, which themselves will point to other resources, so get > reading. > > Len > > > http://MenAndMice.com/DNS-training > http://BIND8NT.MEIway.com : ISC BIND 8.2.4 for NT4 & W2K > http://IMGate.MEIway.com : Build free, hi-perf, anti-abuse mail gateways > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the message > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-newbies" in the body of the message
