Recently, we tried to build /usr/ports/security/ssh2. The configure phase failed, as: # make ===> Extracting for ssh2-2.3.0 >> Checksum OK for ssh-2.3.0.tar.gz. ===> Patching for ssh2-2.3.0 ===> Applying FreeBSD patches for ssh2-2.3.0 ===> Configuring for ssh2-2.3.0 creating cache ./config.cache checking distribution consistency... done ... checking for xauth... no configure: error: configuring with X but xauth not found - aborting ===> Script "configure" failed: here are the contents of "config.log" This file contains any messages produced by compilers while running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake. Looking in the Makefile, I don't see any obvious way to kill off the X involvement.
