For the ports, more the DESCR file in the particular port, for example:

peloton: {4} more /usr/ports/games/oneko/pkg/DESCR
oneko displays a cat chasing the mouse. It is based on "xneko", which
displayed a cat in a cage (i.e., a rectangular window). She is now
free to run all over the screen.

For already installed packages you need to do a similar thing, but more
the +DESC file in the pkg, for example:

peloton: {5} more /var/db/pkg/dontspace-1.2/+DESC
Dontspace is a solitaire game for X11. It's modeled after
the game ``Free Space'' distributed with Microsoft Windows NT.
Dontspace emphasizes a clean user interface and point-based
scoring.

If you want more than that you'll need to go to the original source and
check its web page.
