patch against head

Hi,

Patch adapted from:
http://git.haproxy.org/?p=3Dhaproxy.git;a=3Dcommitdiff;h=3D1a69af6d3892fe19=
46bb8babb3044d2d26afd46e

Adapted to use sync built-ins on Clang by default. Feel free to change that
approach.

I hope this also unblocks the move of haproxy 1.8.3 landing as "haproxy", n=
ot
"haproxy-devel" ?

Cheers,
Franco
