I run freshclam from cron using a wrapper script that posts nagios status using send_nsca. This job started dumping core after upgrading to 0.102.0. (The fix for me was to add a "cd /tmp" to the script). I filed this upstream bug report: https://bugzilla.clamav.net/show_bug.cgi?id=12442 Craig dot 29 # cd /var/cron dot 30 # ls -gld . drwxr-x--- 3 root wheel 512 Jan 18 2019 . dot 31 # su -fm clamav % freshclam ClamAV update process started at Mon Nov 18 15:53:26 2019 ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron ERROR: Failed to change back to original directory /var/cron Segmentation fault (core dumped) %
