Hi,

The SVN version of webcamd (r1701) has now been updated to create /dev/lircX 
characters devices. Please try and report back. Note that /dev/lircX is not 
the same like /dev/event/xxxx which is still not yet implemented, hence we 
need to import the input layer in linux which should be trivial.
