I haven't touched anything to do with the cdrom devices on *any* of the machines here, nor have I ever had any cause to edit the permissions on any of the bin dirs.., Please understand my position here.., I don't *ever* stray away from standard installations, application configs, etc.., For the very reason that you have asked about "whether or not I've changed something"., Everything on this system is as stock as can be.., barring the userland appliacations for Gnome-2.4 Thanks again for the reply.
