My question is this: has anyone looked into, or been discussing device driver support from other OS's? I realize that this is a non-trivial task and would probably require some fundamental changes, but it seems that doing so, at least with Linux, NetBSD and OpenBSD (possibly SCO) would be a great benefit for the same reasons as binary compatibility: hardware vendors would be more likely to publish drivers for this series of OS's, as well as those already ported to Linux, et. al., giving FreeBSD users a larger selection of hardware to choose from.
