I got the serial cable, and the apcupsd daemon starts up just fine now. I chose "backups" as UPSTYPE, and "940-0128A" as UPS-CABLE. I set the TIMEOUT to 30, hoping it would initiate a shutdown in 30 seconds. Alas, nothing happened. :( I see nothing in the status-log of apcupsd 3.8.5 to indicate error. Has anyone any suggestions?
