Recently I found out that interrupting the boot process of a ESX machine = would lead to a non-ethernet-wakable server. Only after booting and=20 shutting down the ESX(i) the server woke up as expected. Now I checked it with FreeSBD and after shutting down the server it=20 doesn't respond to wol magic packets. One has to set `ifconfig em0 wol_magic` for example. Then it worked,=20 although the wol feature isn't reported by the interface: em0: flags=3D8843 metric 0 mtu 15= 00 options=3D9b Now comes the annoying part: It works only _sometimes_ Haven't found any rule yet. Maybe someone else can shade light on this mystic WOL behaviour (Jack?) Thanks in advance, -Harry --------------enig00A30E7EABC44D5A2D3543F7 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.12 (FreeBSD) iEYEARECAAYFAkpeM24ACgkQLDqVQ9VXb8gqdgCeJUc46YWYpSR8cOJhZo1QTrDX XhgAoK1YMAgBSCDjTI5WoctuCEHW0EcP =sMN/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enig00A30E7EABC44D5A2D3543F7--
