I own a DFE530-TX and it works totally fine with no problems at all. I had the exact same problems with watchdog timeouts to start with but tracked the problem down to the fact that I put the card in the wrong slot. It needs to be in the highest priority slot (the bus mastering slot) which is usually pci0, i put mine in pci4 by mistake. Although the card isn't the best card in the world, it's cheap, cheerful and it works! Rgds.
