That one was unfair because the guy set things up out of the box, didn't tune the FreeBSD at all, and the machine was huge enough that M$ could actually run. I would be glad to write a straight review, maybe we should offer that as well. Suppose we set up two HW configs, say a P166 with 64MB and a P][ with 256MB, and give teams of experts from each side a week to build a website to spec. Then we do a load test. This will allow them to play their ASP games, and us to tweak our machine and our CGI scripts. I think this would be a fair comparison. We could do it at one of the big shows, maybe, and make it a public event. I will approach InfoWorld editorial staff about this. -- oooOOO O O O o * * * * * * o ___ _________ _________ ________ _________ _________ ___==_ V_=_=_DW ===--- Don Wilde [don@PartsNow.com] [http://www.PartsNow.com ] /oo0000oo-oo--oo-ooo---ooo-ooo---ooo-ooo--ooo-ooo---ooo-ooo---ooo-oo--oo To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message
