These are of the form xxx.aa, xxx.ab, xxx.ac.... yyy.aa,.... They can be cat'ted together to make a series of tar.gz files. On Unix, cat sys.[a-z][a-z] >sys.tar.gz gives the kernel sources. I have no idea how to do this on a system without unix tools, but it's just a simple concatenation in order. These are all on the CDROM set, too.
