Did you actually let mergemaster replace the passwd files in /etc? I use mergemaster quite often, and there are a few files that I don't let it touch. It wouldbe nice if mergemaster has an option to let you specify files that you don't want it to look at. But, all in all, mergemaster is a big help when keeping up with -current. Viren -- Viren R.
