What solutions you are talking of? We have devel/jtag in ports that
support flash programming for a lot of chips, and devel/libbdm for
MPC8xx PowerPC embedded boards.

Personally, I'm using libbdm for mpc8xx work on FreeBSD, thought
not only for jtag features.
