Environment:
		FreeBSD v2.1R ftp'd from FreeBSD.org
		elm port: elm2.4pl24me8 from ports

Problem: Can not read mail -
	 Message: waiting to read mailbox (tries 7 times)
		  timed out on locking mailbox

I have seen this quite a while ago on another system, but I forget the solution.

Suggestion would be appreciated,
