-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- My 2.2.5-RELEASE (recently upgraded from 2.2.2-RELEASE) has been running very nicely. No crashes, no odd behavior, etc. Until this morning, when I noticed the following kernel messages on the console: > fhtovp: file start miss -853868544 vs 88 > fhtovp: file start miss -853868544 vs 88 > fhtovp: file start miss -853868544 vs 88 > fhtovp: file start miss -853868544 vs 88 > fhtovp: file start miss -853868544 vs 88 What do they mean? (i.e. what part of the kernel is generating them?) I'm guessing the File system? Is this an indication that one of my disks is about to go belly-up? Should I boot to single-user and run a manual fsck on everything? The system seems to be running OK despite these messages. I haven't found any damaged or unreadable files. - --- Donald Burr <dburr@POBoxes.com> - Ask me for my PGP key | PGP: Your WWW HomePage: http://DonaldBurr.base.org/ ICQ #1347455 | right to Address: P.O.
