In-Reply-To: <77182164128D.AAA15D0@smtp01.wxs.nl> Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I am trying to setup an nis database so between two servers (ver 2.2.6) well, i enabled this stuff rc.conf also, i am trying to run make in the /var/yp directory, but it just hags there saying: NIS Map update started on Wed Jul 1 13:50:06 EDT 1998 for domain fastol.com Updating hosts.byname... well, i guess i am doing something wrong. also, on startup it waits forever on rpc.yppasswdd daemon and then gives a message that the master server is not found. any help would be appreciated. val.
