Or another drive -->to try in your machine? It sounds to me like you may be encountering a -->termination problem, or that the drive itself is bad. I unfortunately do -->not have any experience with NCR controllers; I've got an Adaptec 2940. I have tried two diffrent drives and two different cards in two different machines in all combinations. I guess it is possible that the both drives is broken... I dunno...
