the Prolific 2303 drivers -- SUXXOR -- on windows. we had to eliminate all use of cables like this in our software lab at work, they actually Blue Screen of Death at the most in opportune time. http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/Cables/RPi.htm These don't have the problem with driver crashes.
