Reisha & Darrell Basdeo: |I recently added the PnP code to my kernel to support a SB16 PnP card. | |I'm able to use the card now and play audio CD's if the CD-ROM is |connected to one of the on board IDE controllers. | |I have now connected the CD-ROM to the sound card and I'm not sure or |don't know how to configure the KERNEL for it to work. | |Could you please provide some info/help. If you've got all that working, I think you're home free -- no more kernel building required. Just verify that you've got the internal audio connector strung from the audio port on the CD-ROM to your sound blaster card. Then use mixer, xmix or some mixer program to adjust up the cdaudio and main sound card volume. Finally use cdcontrol, workman (-c /dev/rwcd0c), or your favorite cdplayer to fire up an audio CD.
