Ah. Sorry. Your error report was so terse, that I didn't realise that you
already had the updated perl. This is somewhat strange. I've got 5.6.1, and
this works fine. I don't have access to a 5.8 system - could you post your
/etc/make.conf, please? Also, please check what the Makefile variables
PERL_MAJOR and PERL_MINOR gets set to?
