Hi Shon, I'm not sure where you read that the FA311 is compatable with FreeBSD, but in my experience it is not. According to Netgear, the FA312 is definitely not supported, and the FA311 uses the same chipset. The FA310 is supported through the dc driver, however. Essentially the 310 has the same features, so you may want to buy one--- they're only $20.
