I'm not really sure that i've understand you right. You could make all 
selections and the system is rebooting nearly the end of the 
instalation. Is it right?

Some time ago, i had a similar problem. With the latest ISO of 5.2 the 
system rebooted every time when the kernel get loaded.

To solve this problem i just tried an older RELEASE, if i can remember 
it was 5.1 everything worked fine. After the finished installation i 
just updated with cvsup to current. So try an older release, may it will 
help you.
