Boot into single user mode ("boot -s" at the "ok" prompt) and edit the
rc.local file from there. You'll need to do "mount -a" to mount /usr
and other filesystems you might need, you might need an explicit "mount
/" to get the root filesystem read-only, I'm not sure if the "mount -a"
will do that or not.
