You probably would need to recompile your kernel with the appropriate options defined. Some kernel modules can be loaded by themselves (commonly things like device drivers), whereas some other ones have more complex dependencies, and you do better to build a kernel with everything they need defined. However, it is likely that upgrading to a recent version of FreeBSD (4.10 or later), would not only come with the multicast stuff built in, but also be a good idea in terms of security. -- -Chuck
