You will support our customers around the region from our Hackensack, NJ headquarters where you will be based. Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems is a must. We're looking for you if you're able to walk into any situation, no matter how chaotic, size-up exactly what needs to get done, figure out the solution from your own experience or from doing research, and then solve the problem. In this role you will: . Manage day-to-day operation of the company's servers . Help ensure 24x7 data-center uptime . Maintain firewalls, antivirus and identity management systems . Manage data recovery and backup services . and share an on-call responsibility These are the technologies with which you'll encounter . FreeBSD 3.x - 5.x, Windows 2000 - 2003 . Active Directory & Samba . Apache & PostgreSQL . Shell & Perl scripting . Cisco equipment running OSPF You need to have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and principles. Understanding how to integrate Windows and FreeBSD is something that will definitely help you in this job. The position requires you have at least a Microsoft MCP.
