I tried reinstalling mpd.  I was running version 3.2 before, so I updated
to the latest port - mpd-3.8.  It crashed again today on schedule.

So, recompiling mpd doesn't do the trick.  I've killed the mpd process
entirely now.  We'll see tommorrow whether that prevents the crash.
