I don't know what's your problem (make sure your `which perl`
isn't linked to libc.so.5), but it definitely works here:
: $ hostname
: sledge.freebsd.org
: $ uname -mir
: 6.0-CURRENT amd64 SLEDGE
: $ grep __FreeBSD_version /usr/include/osreldate.h
: #undef __FreeBSD_version
: #define __FreeBSD_version 600019
: $ env LC_ALL="unknown" perl -e exit
: perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
: perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
: LC_ALL = "unknown",
: LANG = (unset)
: are supported and installed on your system.
