A friend's OS/2 box drops LCP and then reports the remote said "greetings!" and links up fine, so I suggested it as an off-the-wall thing :-) I forgot to check this: when does it say "dial OK!" and "Login OK!"? I seem to remember login OK! appearing before it was done. You may also try doing "set debug chat" and see how far it is getting through the script.
