Try setuid'ing Xnest. > > Joe Hi Joe, thanks for all the help. Gnome bug 127780 has been resolved and a fix has been committed to the HEAD and gnome-2-4 branches. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a temporary workaround for this as gdm will not run suid because of gtk and setuid'ing Xnest made my machine REALLY angry. Using sudo wouldn't work either.
