There's no need to copy the whole of /etc/defaults/periodic.conf --
just use /etc/defaults/periodic.conf, and copy only those settings you
want to override into /etc/periodic.conf.  It works in exactly the
same way as /etc/rc.conf and /etc/defaults/rc.conf.
