In fact, as you probably know the 6600 series was released *after* the 6800. So
the freebsd nvidia driver does not work with it (just check the nvidia release
notes for the linux driver, 6600 support was added in the version 1.0-6629). So
your links are not really useful sorry...
BTW it seems that 6600 support was added in xorg 6.8.2 which should come shortly
in the ports tree.
