Usually, I delete any .so.*.*.* in lib/compat/pkg, but IIRC, I found one still in use once. There is linking vs minor library versions -- though it is rare: %readelf -d /usr/local/bin/ekiga | grep 'so\.[0-9]*\.' 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libopal_r.so.2.2] %cd /usr/local/lib/ ; ls libopal_r.so* libopal_r.so libopal_r.so.2 libopal_r.so.2.2 libopal_r.so.2.2.11 Cheers, Jan Henrik
