Is this a seriously meant question ? :-)

OK, BSDI = BSD for $
FreeBSD = BSD for free or a lttle more than the cose of a CD

BSDI = Berkeley Systems Design Inc., founded by Rob Kolstad.
And they are orthogonal to Bill Jolitz, the father of 386BSD.

They sell a BSD OS (binaries + sources) for a reasonable 950.00 $/support year
Their current version is 2.0 (if I'm correct).

FreeBSD runs BSDI binaries (occasionally deviating from this goal).
I personally run MapleV (BSDI binary) under FreeBSD.
