It was supported from 2.0.5 on. The most stable version of the driver
to date is availible in 2.1-STABLE or 2.2-CURRENT.

>Q: Will FreeBSD support ATAPI CD-ROMs ?

Preliminary support for ATAPI is availible in 2.1-RELEASE and subsequent
