I've run into the same problem: After installation, sysinstall can't find the packages when you specify CD-ROM as the install media. The work-around I've found is to mount the CD (in /cdrom, for me) and then tell sysinstall to install the packages from an existing file system, giving it /cdrom as the path. That done, it works fine. Of course, this doesn't solve the underlying problem of accessing the CD directly with sysinstall. Anyone got a better solution?
