I can understand this.  Thankfully, statistics will also show you that
most people who are compiling one of these have the others already
unpacked, so it's probably not as big a hardship as you might
think. :-)

You're suggesting that I simply put in a pre-extract target or
something that drops the include files I need straight out of the TCL
or TK tarball into ${WRKDIR}?

Hmmm.  That's an interesting idea.  Let me think about it and
experiment in my own tree.
