I have NO idea where this happens, but I would (if I had time, which I don't :-( ) start out by examining if the initialiazation when we fork() is correct, and next if our signals do the right thing. I tried compiling libc with various -j# using NetBSD's make: -j1 1528 sec real -j2 810 ... -j3 522 ...
