I seriously think that you should give up trying and get hold of the latest version of 2.1-STABLE, since you have net access. You'll save yourself a whole lot of work. I suppose "Installing and Running FreeBSD", available from Walnut Creek, is what you want. I just wonder if it will help. At least it has a whole lot of information on what can go wrong and why, but that alone is probably not what you want. Greg
